All Krishi Vigyan Kendras of MPUAT Receive ISO Certification

Udaipur. In a significant achievement, all Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) affiliated with Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) have been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification along with the Directorate of Extension Education. This international certification will not only enhance global outreach but also strengthen farmers' engagement with extension services.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka stated that this milestone would prove to be a historic achievement for MPUAT. He emphasized that the ISO certification would elevate the university’s national and international reputation while also enhancing the prestige, reliability, employee participation, regulatory compliance, and global trade prospects of KVKs.

List of KVKs Receiving ISO Certification

The newly certified Krishi Vigyan Kendras include:

Borwat Farm (Banswara)

Rithola (Chittorgarh)

Phaloj (Dungarpur)

Basad (Pratapgarh)

Dhoinda (Rajsamand)

Siakhedi (Udaipur II)

Previously, Suwana (Bhilwara I) and Araniyaghoda (Bhilwara II) had already received ISO certification, and now the Directorate of Extension Education has also been honored with this recognition.

Key Activities That Led to Certification

Director of Extension Education, Dr. R.L. Soni, highlighted that KVKs focus on various farmer-centric activities, leading to their ISO certification. Inspired by Bhilwara’s model, all certified KVKs have developed demonstration units such as:

Sirohi Goat and Pratapdhan Poultry Farming

Dairy, Chick Farming, Vermicompost, and Vermiwash Production

Natural Farming Units and Nurseries

Napier Grass Cultivation and Rainwater Conservation Units

Biogas and Fish Farming Facilities

Hydroponic Green Fodder Production at Low Cost

Mother Orchards of Amla, Guava, and Lemon

Seed Production and Crop Cafeterias

These initiatives promote integrated farming systems, enabling farmers to establish self-sustaining agribusinesses, thereby strengthening rural livelihoods and reducing migration to cities. Additionally, timely marketing of agricultural produce has boosted farmers' income.

Furthermore, KVKs regularly organize agricultural fairs, farmer-scientist interactions, awareness programs, expert talks, and demonstrations to transfer innovative agricultural technologies successfully. The ISO certification will now reinforce MPUAT’s credibility and effectiveness in agricultural extension services both nationally and globally.
