Udaipur,
The Congress launched a scathing attack on the Rajasthan government, calling it unsuccessful and directionless. Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Govind Singh Dotasara and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie accused the BJP government of failing to make major decisions and being solely focused on publicity instead of providing relief to the people.
Speaking to the media at Maharana Pratap Airport in Dabok, Udaipur, Dotasara criticized the state government for its inability to conduct examinations securely, jeopardizing the future of students. Taking a dig at the government, he said, "This government itself is leaking. It cannot conduct major exams, and even small ones are getting leaked. The engines of the double-engine government are connected in reverse."
Dotasara also questioned the government’s stance on the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). He stated that while the BJP initially praised the project, it is now delaying granting it national status. "If the project was so beneficial, why hasn’t the central government declared it a national project? The center is only sending formal papers but not giving Rajasthan its due share." He also demanded a caste census to ensure proper budget allocation for backward communities, allowing marginalized sections of society to receive the benefits they deserve.
Targeting the government over illegal sand mining, Dotasara alleged that the BJP administration has admitted that illegal mining worth ₹7 crore is taking place daily, yet no concrete action has been taken. "The government itself accepts its inefficiency. This government has collapsed, and there is no way to save it now."
Regarding the Union Budget, Dotasara criticized Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for not mentioning Rajasthan in the previous budget. He expressed hope that this time, special announcements would be made for the state, especially to tackle the water crisis. He also urged the government to focus on social security and provide tax relief for employees.
Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie attacked the central government, stating that despite electing a large number of BJP MPs, Rajasthan has received nothing in return. "Modi himself laid the foundation stone for ERCP, but no budget has been allocated for it to date. The government is only renaming projects but not implementing any real work."
He further criticized the government for failing to support farmers, increasing crime rates, and stopping pensions for the elderly and disabled. "The BJP is only relying on speeches, but in reality, it is doing nothing."
Earlier, at Dabok Airport in Udaipur, Congress workers gave a grand welcome to Govind Singh Dotasara and Tikaram Julie. Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson and general secretary Pankaj Kumar Sharma honored them with tricolor turbans and shawls. Several Congress leaders and workers, including Hanumant Singh Boheda, Raj Singh Jhala, Tara Chand Meena, Fateh Singh Rathore, Kachru Lal Chaudhary, Lal Singh Jhala, Suresh Shrimali, Dinesh Shrimali, Vivek Katara, Heeralal Darangi, and Raunak Garg, were present on the occasion.
