District Collector Inspects Development Works in Udaipur

Udaipur,  District Collector Namit Mehta conducted a marathon tour of Udaipur’s outer areas on Thursday morning, inspecting various development projects undertaken by the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA). During the visit, he reviewed progress reports and issued necessary directions to officials.

Accompanied by UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain and Superintendent Engineer Anit Mathur, the Collector first reached Badgaon, where he assessed road construction progress and instructed officials to resolve technical obstacles for timely completion.

Development of Ramgiri Hills as an Urban Forest

During the visit to Ramgiri Hills, which has been designated as an Oxygen Hub in the state budget, Mehta emphasized preserving its natural beauty while developing it as an urban forest. He directed the construction of trekking paths, parking areas, toilets, and a cafeteria. Additionally, he suggested coordinating with the Forest Department to introduce deer, peacocks, and other wildlife in compliance with regulations.

Inspection of Roads, Bridges, and Flyovers

The Collector inspected the road and bridge construction at Thoor Ki Pal, reviewing site maps to understand their utility. He also visited the Bhuwana-Pratapnagar four-lane road and examined the underpass near MLSU’s Swarn Jayanti Gate, instructing for its timely completion with artistic wall designs. He further reviewed the Balicha-Pratapnagar four-lane work and instructed Commissioner Rahul Jain to resolve underground pipeline issues promptly and complete the road before the monsoon.

Comprehensive Plan for Balicha Bypass

During his visit to Balicha Bypass on the Ahmedabad Highway, Jain highlighted the area as an accident-prone zone, necessitating a large traffic circle and either an underpass or an overpass. The Collector directed officials to conduct a detailed feasibility study and develop a robust action plan for safety improvements.

Ensuring Proper Use of Community Buildings

At the UDA’s South Expansion Plan site, Mehta reviewed ongoing and proposed projects, including a community building. He instructed officials to expedite its allocation under the PPP model and ensure its proper utilization for public benefit.

The visit underscored the administration's commitment to planned urban development, safety, and environmental conservation in Udaipur.
