Apna Ghar Ashram in Bedla, Udaipur, created another inspiring example of humanity by reuniting Vikram, also known as Pintubhai, with his family after a year. Vikram was rescued in a homeless state from Pratap Nagar Circle, Udaipur, on September 15, 2024, and was admitted to the ashram for care, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Ashram Secretary Gopal Kaneria shared that with continuous medical care and counseling at the ashram, Vikram’s health improved significantly. During counseling sessions, he revealed his real name, Pintubhai, and his address in Turkha, Botad, Gujarat. Based on this information, Ashram In-charge Sultan Singh used Google Maps to find contact details of people from the area and sent them Vikram’s photo and details. The efforts paid off, and contact was established with his family.
His brother Shyamji Kanhabhai and brother-in-law Vitthalbhai Karsanbhai came to the ashram to take Vikram home. They shared that Vikram had left for work a year ago and had not returned since. Despite searching extensively, they couldn’t find him. Vikram has a wife and three children who have been eagerly awaiting his return. The family expressed immense joy and gratitude upon receiving the news from the ashram.
In an emotional statement, they said, “Seeing our brother safe fills us with happiness. We are deeply thankful to Apna Ghar Ashram for their kindness and care. It is hard to believe how selflessly they serve unknown individuals. May God bless them abundantly.”
During the farewell ceremony, Ashram President Suresh Vijayvargiya and Secretary Gopal Kaneria applied a tilak, draped an honor shawl on Vikram, and bid him farewell with great joy as he reunited with his family. The event was attended by Ayurvedic Doctor Jyoti Sahl, Dr. Jayprakash Gupta, their teams, and other ashram volunteers.
To date, Apna Ghar Ashram has reunited 78 individuals with their families. Currently, 47 residents are under their care. This reunion is a beautiful testament to the power of compassion and humanity.
