Marble Traders Celebrate Makar Sankranti with Enthusiasm

Udaipur: The auspicious festival of Makar Sankranti was celebrated with great enthusiasm and a family-friendly atmosphere at the Field Club ground. The event was jointly organized by the Udaipur Marble Association and the Udaipur Marble Processor Committee.

The Sports Day celebration was graced by guests Manish Galundia from Udaipur Chamber of Commerce, Ajay Pandya, Senior Deputy General Manager of RIICO, S.K. Nenawati, District Industries Center General Manager Shailendra Sharma, SIDBI Bank General Manager Abhay Jain, and BJP District General Secretary Kiran Jain. Children, women, and elders began arriving in a festive mood early in the morning.

The program commenced with a warm welcome for the guests by Udaipur Marble Association President Pankaj Gangawat, Secretary Neeraj Sharma, Vice President Rajendra Mor, Treasurer Kuldeep Jain, and Udaipur Marble Processor Committee President Kapil Surana and General Secretary Dr. Hitesh Patel. Guests were honored with traditional turbans and shawls.

The guests praised both associations for organizing such an event, stating that the celebration is truly historic for the marble industry. They highlighted how such a large business and industrial group has been celebrating this festival as a family event for 30 years, making it a memorable and proud occasion.

In the cricket match, the Udaipur Marble Processor Committee batted first and scored 143 runs in 19.1 overs, losing all their wickets. In response, the Udaipur Marble Association achieved the target in 15.1 overs, losing only two wickets. Vishwas Chaubisa was declared the Man of the Match for his outstanding contribution of 73 runs off 44 balls.

Women and children enjoyed traditional games like housie, sitoliya, and gilli danda, while all marble traders entertained themselves by flying kites. Various sports competitions were also held, and the winners were honored with prizes. Additionally, gifts were distributed to all children, making the celebration a grand success.
