Udaipur, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra addressed a public gathering in support of Congress candidate Mrs. Reshma Meena at Sarasia village in the Saloombar assembly constituency as part of the ongoing by-election campaign. The event was organized under the leadership of Udaipur Rural District Congress President Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit.
Dotasra criticized the state government, saying, "For the past ten months, Rajasthan has been without a real government. There is no vision from the Chief Minister, and the government is simply following instructions from Delhi. The youth, farmers, women, and common people are suffering, but the government is indifferent to their concerns."
He added that while the by-election results will not directly affect the state government, winning the Saloombar seat for Congress will send a strong message and put pressure on the government to focus on development. Dotasra emphasized that the Congress government had worked hard for the development of the state, including opening English-medium schools for farmers’ and tribals’ children, which the current BJP government had reduced after taking office.
"Our goal is to defeat the arrogance of the BJP. If Congress wins in Saloombar, it will strengthen the opposition in Rajasthan and compel the government to focus on the development of the region," Dotasra concluded.
Former Congress Working Committee member and former MLA from Saloombar, Raghuveer Singh Meena, expressed confidence that Congress would win the by-election. He said, "We are united in our fight, and this time, we will defeat the BJP and send our candidate, Reshma Meena, to Jaipur."
Kachru Lal Choudhary, President of Udaipur Rural District Congress, also highlighted that only Congress could bring development to Mewar. "We must unite and ensure the victory of our candidate in this by-election," he stated.
Tara Chand Meena, a former Lok Sabha candidate, reiterated that Congress' vision was focused on development. "Since India’s independence, Congress has played a key role in the nation’s progress. The development of this region can only be led by Congress," he said.
Former Minister and Senior Observer, Ashok Chandna, shared that after meeting with the public in Saloombar, it was clear that the people were dissatisfied with the BJP government and longed for the previous Congress government’s leadership. "There is a positive atmosphere for Congress in the region, and I can confidently say that we will win this by-election," he added.
Arjun Singh Bamnia, former Minister and MLA, pledged that the Congress would win the Saloombar seat and show the BJP both at the state and central levels the people's true sentiments.
Mrs. Reshma Meena, Congress's candidate for Saloombar, expressed gratitude to all the party officials and workers who attended the gathering. She urged everyone to vote for Congress in the upcoming by-election on November 13.
The event was also attended by numerous prominent Congress leaders, including former MPs, MLAs, and district officials, such as Govind Singh Dotasra, Raghuveer Singh Meena, Ashok Chandna, Arjun Singh Bamnia, Ritvik Makwana (AICC Secretary & Rajasthan Co-incharge), Kachru Lal Choudhary, Dr. Rajendra Mund (Congress General Secretary), Tara Chand Meena (former Lok Sabha candidate), and several other party officials and workers.
