Kherwada, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasara stated that inactive Congress office bearers would be removed and replaced with active workers to strengthen the party. He was addressing a large assembly-level Congress workers’ conference and celebrating the 80th birthday of MLA Dr. Dayaram Parmar at the Block Congress Office premises.
Dotasara praised Dr. Parmar, calling him youthful in energy and ever-dedicated to the public's welfare. Highlighting Parmar’s unique academic achievement, he said Parmar is the first tribal in India to earn a PhD on Jainism. Dotasara admitted that the party had erred by not giving him a ministerial position in earlier Congress governments.
He criticized the current BJP-led state government, accusing it of closing municipal bodies in the Kherwada Assembly and discontinuing public welfare schemes initiated during Congress rule. He remarked that BJP leaders without constitutional positions were inaugurating development projects executed under Congress, and that the state was being led by an inexperienced government.
Dotasara urged block-level leaders to actively engage with the public and resolve their issues. He directed the removal of non-performing office bearers and called for new blood in the organization. He emphasized that Dr. Parmar’s experience should guide the party in the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections, from ward members to district chiefs.
Leader of the Opposition, Tikaram Julie, who chaired the program, accused the BJP of coming to power by exploiting religion and caste. He said the party was ignoring growing unemployment and instead dividing society. Julie expressed confidence that voters would reject the BJP in the next election.
Earlier, Dr. Parmar welcomed Dotasara and Julie with garlands, turbans, and traditional weapons. He shared insights from his 80-year-long journey and encouraged party workers to begin preparations for the Panchayati Raj elections without delay.
Other distinguished guests included AICC member Dinesh Khodnia, Rural District Congress Committee President Kacharulal Choudhary, former District Collector Tarachand Meena, and senior Congress leader Kamla Parmar.
On Dr. Parmar’s birthday, a cake-cutting ceremony was held, and he was felicitated with garlands and best wishes from guests and local leaders. Attendees included block presidents, heads of advance organizations, panchayat and zila parishad members, sarpanches, and dedicated Congress workers. A 21-kg garland was also presented in honor of the guests.
The guests were welcomed with fireworks upon arrival in Kherwada. Among the attendees were Dinesh Meena (Block Congress President, Kherwada), Rupalal Meena (President, Rishabhdev Block), Pushpa Meena (Kherwada Panchayat Samiti Chief), Kesar Devi Meena (Chief, Rishabhdev Panchayat Samiti), and various Mandal Presidents.
