Udaipur,Under the aegis of Narayan Seva Sansthan, the grand Durga Ashtami ceremony was held on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami on Sunday at the Manav Mandir, Hiran Magri Sector 4. The event began with the ceremonial worship of 501 specially-abled girls, who had arrived at the institute from different states during Navratri for free surgeries and prosthetic support.
The chief guest, Sunil Khanduja, Managing Director of Ingersoll Rand India (Ahmedabad), along with Renu Khanduja, Gaural Khanduja, founder Kailash ‘Manav’, Kamla Devi Agrawal, and Sansthan President Prashant Agrawal, inaugurated the ritual by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
On this occasion, the Khanduja family performed the ritual of applying tilak to the girls, draping them in red chunris, offering gifts, and serving halwa-puri as sacred food. Sunil Khanduja remarked that the education and health of young girls are fundamental to building a prosperous and content society. He also emphasized the significant role of government and public sector enterprises in supporting such initiatives.
Distinguished guests including Dr. Vivek Garg, Vijay Singla (Kaithal), Dinesh Rathore, Pathik Shah, and Vishal Gajjar (Ahmedabad) also participated in the kanya pujan and performed a grand aarti of Goddess Durga.
President Prashant Agrawal welcomed the guests and shared insights into the Sansthan’s ongoing free service initiatives for the differently-abled, destitute, and economically disadvantaged.
Founder Padma Shri Kailash ‘Manav’ stated that the worship of Goddess Durga and girls energizes society with a vital force and inspires efforts toward women empowerment. “Women are not just the core of a family but the axis of all creation,” he added.
