Udaipur,: Renowned spiritual leader and scholar of Ramcharitmanas, Sant Shri Bhagwandas Maharaj, who is well-known for his unwavering commitment to selfless service, arrived in Udaipur on Monday. For over 44 years, his Ashram in Barabanki has been a hub of free medical services for the underprivileged. During his visit, Maharaj met with Dr. J.K. Chhaparwal, a senior physician and coordinator of the upcoming medical camp, and lauded the efforts of the entire medical team involved in this noble mission.
Dr. Chhaparwal shared details of the medical initiatives undertaken at the Ashram, where surgeries such as cataract, hernia, hydrocele, piles, cysts, and uterine ailments have been performed free of cost for decades. He emphasized that this legacy of service will continue with the support of expert doctors and dedicated volunteers.
Preparations for the Upcoming Camp
The preparations for the next medical camp have been finalized. A team of doctors and paramedics will depart from Udaipur on January 21 at 8:30 AM, traveling by bus from the B.N. College premises. Additional groups will follow via train in two phases. The camp will feature a temporary operation theater equipped with six OT tables, where approximately 3,000 surgeries will be performed. Prior to the operations, patients will undergo thorough medical examinations and pre-operative tests to ensure their eligibility for the procedures.
Legacy of Selfless Service
Since its inception, the Ashram’s medical initiative has gained widespread recognition for providing free healthcare to thousands of patients each year. The camp not only addresses critical medical issues but also fosters a spirit of compassion and humanity among the volunteers and medical professionals involved.
Sant Bhagwandas Maharaj praised the organizational efforts and urged the team to continue their work with the same dedication and enthusiasm. “Service to humanity is service to God,” he remarked, emphasizing the spiritual significance of their collective efforts.
Dr. Chhaparwal also expressed his gratitude towards the medical team, local volunteers, and organizations that have extended their support in organizing the camp. He highlighted that the medical camp is one of the largest of its kind in the region, providing much-needed relief to underprivileged patients who otherwise lack access to quality healthcare.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to the mission of selfless service, inspiring the team to strive for excellence in the upcoming camp.
