Udaipur, The voting for the Salumbar Assembly by-election 2024 will take place on Wednesday. The Election Commission of India is making every possible effort to engage voters in the electoral process in large numbers. In addition to Sakhi, Youth, and Divyang booths, green and culture-based theme booths are also being set up.
District Election Officer Arvind Poswal informed that the Government Higher Secondary School, Kejd (left part) has been designated as a green booth in the Salumbar Assembly constituency. The booth will be decorated with environmental conservation messages in line with the green theme. Additionally, the Mahatma Gandhi Government School, Gandhi Chowk, Salumbar (right part) has been prepared as a culture-based theme booth. Selfie points are being installed at these booths so that voters can click selfies after casting their votes and post them on social media handles to inspire others to vote.
**Final Preparations at Booths as Polling Teams Arrive**
Meanwhile, the polling teams from the Udaipur district headquarters reached their designated booths in the afternoon. The teams, with the help of BLOs, local village development officers, and patwaris, carried out final preparations, including organizing the entry and exit points at the polling booth, seating arrangements for the presiding officers and polling officers, and identifying places for the installation of EVM-VVPAT machines. Detailed information about the polling center was displayed outside the booths, and strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct was ensured within a 200-meter radius of the booth.
**Inspection by General Observer**
The General Observer appointed by the Election Commission of India, J. Vijayarani, visited the Salumbar Assembly constituency in the afternoon. She inspected various polling centers and reviewed the preparations. Necessary instructions were also provided during the inspection. Liasioning Officer Vineet Sharma, Ghanshyam Chandel, and others were also present.
