###Work in Coordination to Ensure Public Benefit: Minister for Tribal Area Development

**Approval of MGNREGA Supplementary Annual Work Plan for 2024-25**

**Udaipur,The General Assembly meeting of the Zila Parishad, Udaipur, was held on Friday at the Zila Parishad auditorium. The meeting was presided over by the Minister for Tribal Area Development, Shri Babulal Kharaḍi, with Member of Parliament Dr. Mannalal Rawat as the chief guest and Zila Pramukh Mrs. Mamtakunwar as the chairperson. The meeting, attended by District Collector Arvind Poswal, approved the supplementary annual work plan of ₹31,091.15 lakh for the year 2024-25 under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA). Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain, Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, Vallabhnagar MLA Udaylal Dangi, Mavli MLA Pushkar Dangi, Dhariyawad MLA Thawarchand Meena, Deputy Zila Pramukh Pushkar Teli, and other public representatives were also present.

In his address, Cabinet Minister Shri Kharaḍi stated that the Zila Parishad General Assembly represents the entire district. Proposals and suggestions put forward should be considered seriously, and practical proposals should be implemented swiftly. He urged public representatives and officials to work in coordination to ensure that the benefits of central and state government schemes reach every eligible person. The meeting began with a welcome by Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Kirti Rathore, who presented the proceedings of the previous meeting for approval, which was unanimously approved. Zila Pramukh Mamtakunwar Pawar emphasized that departmental officers should share information with sensitivity and respect for the assembly. She also suggested taking necessary action against absent departmental officers.

**Discussion on Departmental Schemes and Progress**

During the meeting, progress on various departmental schemes and works was discussed. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Shankar Bamnia informed about the progress of card distribution under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and efforts to prevent seasonal diseases. He also discussed the detailed investigation of sickle cell anemia. Members suggested submitting a proposal to the state government for a separate building for the Center of Excellence in Sickle Cell Disease. Dr. Bamnia assured action on all points, including ensuring doctors and staff reside at their respective headquarters, repairing faulty equipment in hospitals, making alternative arrangements for vacant positions, and ensuring the quality of under-construction hospital buildings.

**Research Support for Farm Pond Scheme: MP**

Regarding the lack of expected progress in the farm pond scheme operated by the Agriculture Department, officials attributed the issue to farmers' lack of interest due to geographical disparities. Members suggested increasing subsidies for TSP areas. MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat proposed forming a panel of experts from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture, MLSU, and other institutions to conduct research, ensuring factual information can support special provisions for TSP areas. Issues regarding the distribution of mini-kits to farmers were also raised. TAD Minister Shri Kharaḍi confirmed that the necessary budget has been released to provide seeds before the rainy season. The District Collector directed that local representatives be informed about seed distribution.

**No Compromise on Work Quality: District Collector**

Superintending Engineer Mohanlal Meena of the Public Health Engineering Department presented the departmental progress report, noting that ₹2,234 crore worth of work is proposed to connect 1,386 villages in Udaipur district with piped water under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Members expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of work in some areas and the delay in road repairs post-pipeline installation. District Collector Poswal emphasized no compromise on work quality and instructed prompt road repairs. He directed comprehensive information on local projects to be shared with representatives.

**Discussion on Various Issues**

Members discussed the need for speedy road strengthening in various district areas under the Public Works Department and the status of roads under construction using DMFT and other funds. The discussion included the renewal of Udaipur-Salumber Road, filling potholes on Bhatevar to Dhariyawad State Highway, and issuing work orders for road construction in Kailashpuri.

During the electricity department discussion, issues such as staffing availability at GSS, sagging electric poles, and ensuring adequate electricity distribution in rural areas were raised. Forest department discussions included eco-sensitive zones, wildlife threats in populated areas, and forest rights leases. Members suggested holding joint meetings with representatives for better departmental coordination. Education department discussions focused on the condition of school buildings, emphasizing repairing dilapidated buildings, and reassigning deputed teachers to their respective schools.

Under the excise department, discussions involved efforts to curb illicit liquor production, actions against illegal liquor shops in the city, and enforcing a ban on alcohol sales after 8 PM.
