Closing illegal road cuts and removing encroachments.

Udaipur, Chief Secretary Mr. Sudhansh Pant emphasized that serving the public is an opportunity that comes with a responsibility to prioritize welfare projects with utmost dedication. Addressing divisional and district-level officials through a video conference on Friday evening, he discussed the recurring issues of road and borewell accidents in the state. He underlined the seriousness of the issue, reiterating the commitment of Chief Minister Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma to implement effective measures to curb such accidents.

He stressed the need for coordinated efforts among district administration, police, transport, medical, construction, electricity, PHED, and NHAI departments. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of raising public awareness to prevent such incidents.

Key directives included:Establishing "Jeevan Raksha Mitra" in villages.

Addressing the issue of stray animals on roads.

Ensuring vehicle fitness and mandatory use of helmets and seat belts.

Enforcing action against overloaded vehicles and wrong-way driving.

Conducting regular road inspections and analyzing accident data.

Strengthening road safety awareness campaigns.

Installing reflective tapes on vehicles and creating public awareness about traffic laws.

Providing immediate medical aid to accident victims and involving the public in road safety initiatives.

For borewell safety, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to ensure that borewells are covered, secure the surrounding areas, and educate rural populations about safety measures.

Focus on PM Suryaghar Yojana and TB-Free India Campaign

Mr. Pant also directed energy department officials to disseminate information about the PM Suryaghar Yojana and ensure uninterrupted power supply. Addressing health department officials, he stressed identifying TB patients, ensuring their complete treatment, and encouraging the creation of "Nikshay Mitras" to support the campaign for a TB-free India.

During the video conference, Udaipur Range Inspector General of Police Mr. Rajesh Meena provided updates on the relevant issues. Other participants included District Collector Mr. Arvind Poswal, SP Mr. Yogesh Goyal, ADM City Mr. War Singh, and officials from transport, electricity, NHAI, PHED, and medical departments.
