Udaipur – On the occasion of International Dance Day, the third Udaipur Dance Festival (UDF) is set to take place on April 27 in the City of Lakes. Organized by Kathak Ashram Udaipur and Badala Classes, the festival was announced in a press conference held at Ashoka Green.
Festival coordinator Mukesh Madhwani stated that ahead of the event, four workshops will be conducted, where skilled dancers will train participants of all ages in various dance forms.
Festival convenor Dr. Chandrakala Choudhary mentioned that the previous two editions of the Udaipur Dance Festival were highly successful. The event was initiated in alignment with International Dance Day celebrations. The pre-festival workshops will be held on March 30, April 6, April 13, and April 20, covering Punjabi, Western, Hip-Hop, and other dance styles, taught by Udaipur’s top choreographers. These workshops will be free of charge, and those interested in participating in the festival can also join.
UDF organizer Rahul Badala of Badala Classes highlighted that the festival plays a vital role in providing Udaipur’s dance talents with recognition on national and international platforms. Sharing his personal experience, he mentioned that his daughter, Naira Badala, participated in a previous UDF and later won an international dance competition.
Rajiv Surana of Anushka Academy, a key supporter of UDF, stated that the festival will showcase various dance forms, including classical and Western styles. A special highlight will be the participation of individuals ranging from four-year-old children to adults aged 50-55.
Free Workshops Every Sunday
Leading up to UDF, free workshops will be held at Madhushree Banquet Hall on 100 Feet Road, Shobhagpura. The schedule includes:
March 30 – Vinod Sharma (Lyrical Dance)
April 6 – Arvind Singh (Hip-Hop)
April 13 – Akash Vaishnav & Abhishek Sharma (Pop Animation Dance)
April 20 – Rajiv Bamna (Urban Punjabi Dance)
The festival will be hosted by anchor Nitin Dashora. During the press conference, organizers unveiled the vibrant poster of UDF Season 3, marking the countdown to an exciting dance celebration.
