Kota: A joint patrol by Sub-Inspector Ashok Meena of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Gangapur City Post and SHO Dalbir Singh of the Government Railway Police (GRP) Gangapur City led to the seizure of illegal opium at Gangapur City station on Saturday.
During their routine patrol, the officers noticed a man behaving suspiciously inside the passenger waiting room on Platform No. 1. The man, carrying a pitthu bag, was apprehended and questioned. He identified himself as Surendra Singh, 65, a resident of Patiala, Punjab.
Upon inspecting his bag, officials found 10.3 kg of illegal opium doda choora, estimated to be worth ₹1.4 lakh. The GRP has registered a case under the NDPS Act and further investigation is underway.
