A Ray of Hope for Slum Children: Colonel Rajesh Bhukar and Shaurya Seva Sansthan Make a Lasting Impact

Jaipur | A humble initiative by Retired Army Officer Colonel Rajesh Bhukar, in collaboration with his dedicated team, has brought a meaningful transformation in the lives of underprivileged children through the Savitribai Phule Pathshala, run by Shaurya Seva Sansthan, an NGO founded by Mrs. Santosh Saini.

This initiative focuses on providing education, hygiene, food, clothing, and essential support to children from economically and socially marginalized communities. Many of these children, living in slum areas, have also been assisted in obtaining their Aadhaar cards, enabling them to access government schemes and services.

Currently, over 50 children are attending school regularly. In a remarkable new step, 11 students (both boys and girls) have been admitted to Gyan Deep Senior Secondary School under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, ensuring free and formal education for a brighter future. This effort has become a beacon of hope and opportunity for these young minds.

Colonel Rajesh Bhukar continues to support these children not just with affection and time, but also by providing educational books, clothes, shoes, and financial aid with the help of his associates, ensuring they stay connected to their education.

In the initial days, the school operated out of makeshift tents, exposing children to harsh weather conditions like extreme heat and rain. There were no toilet facilities either. Recognizing these challenges, Colonel Rajesh took the lead and arranged for proper sanitation facilities, a solid tin-roofed shelter, flooring, and seating arrangements for every child — turning the once struggling space into a functional and welcoming learning environment.

The initiative, originally started by Mrs. Santosh Saini, continues to receive generous and active support from Colonel Rajesh and many others.

Shaurya Seva Sansthan was established in 2009 by Mrs. Santosh Saini, with a mission to work in the fields of women empowerment, child education, and animal welfare. Since then, the NGO has consistently worked across various social sectors to bring about positive change.
