Udaipur, The Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival 2025, supported by Hindustan Zinc and the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, and conceptualized by SEHER, wrapped up after three days of diverse performances, bringing Indian and international music to the Zinc city, Udaipur.

This free-for-all festival transformed Udaipur into a vibrant cultural hub, celebrating art and music on an unprecedented scale. This year, the festival revived Rajasthan’s forgotten musical traditions while also celebrating global music in an even grander edition.

The final day started at Manji Ka Ghat, with Sukriti Sen’s soulful classical raagas, followed by Luis de la Carrasca and Manuel Gomez from Spain, who filled the air with the rhythms of Flamenco.

Arun Misra, CEO, Hindustan Zinc said, “At Hindustan Zinc, we celebrate and believe in the power of unifying art and culture. We are proud to support this 3-day festival that celebrates both art and traditions. It was inspiring to see global artists come together in Zinc City, Udaipur, making the city a global music, art and cultural hub. Through our efforts, we’ve helped bring global music and talent to Udaipur, making this festival a resounding success and securing Udaipur’s place as a global music destination. We look forward to continuing this remarkable association and witnessing the transformative power of music in the years to come.”

Hindustan Zinc is dedicated to preserving Indian culture and leveraging music to connect people worldwide. Initiatives like the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival, Srajan - The Spark (celebrating India’s global artistic presence), and Smritiyaan (honoring tabla maestro Pandit Chatur Lal) highlight this commitment. The Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival not only fosters cultural exchange but also boosts Udaipur’s economy, increasing tourism by 10% in three days. Beyond music, the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, hailed as India’s Most Beautiful Marathon, due to its picturesque route aims to combat rural malnutrition in the state of Rajasthan. These initiatives are aimed at setting Rajasthan as a global cultural hub and attract tourists to the state.

In the afternoon, performances moved to Fateh Sagar Paal, where Kavyaraag Collective performed a combination of poetry and music, taking inspiration from Meera, Kabir, Faiz, and Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Los Calchakis from Argentina introduced Andean folk sounds, while The Western Ghats blended indie-folk with pop, rock, and electronic music.

As night fell, Gandhi Ground came alive with high-energy performances. The Sarangi Orchestra brought the deep, resonant sounds of Rajasthan’s folk traditions. Faridkot got the crowd moving with their Punjabi folk-rock, and KAIA, an all-girls group from Canada, performed a mix of originals and popular hits. The music affair ended on a high with Shaan, whose Bollywood set had the audience singing along.

Mr. Sanjeev Bhargava, Founder-Director of SEHER, said, “VUWMF 2025 is special because it brings so many different musical traditions to one stage. Every year, people return, calling it their annual detox, a chance to step away from routine and immerse themselves in music and culture. Their love for this festival keeps us going, and we will continue to bring artists from around the world to make each edition just as meaningful.”

Shaan shared his experience, saying, "Performing at the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival was truly special. There’s something magical about singing under the open sky, with people coming together purely for the love of music. This event brings such a beautiful mix of sounds and cultures, and I’m already looking forward to coming back!"

Over three days, the festival featured artists from around the world, each adding their unique sound to the event. Tiwiza from Algeria blended blues and rock, while Sukriti-Prakriti Kakar brought Bollywood-pop energy. GRAMMY-winning artist Dobet Gnahoré from Côte d'Ivoire captivated the audience with her Afro-pop melodies. Carnatic and Persian classical performances added depth, alongside fusion acts like Karsh Kale & Peter Tegner (India-Sweden) and Romano Drom from Hungary. Euphoria’s rock anthems and Kutle Khan’s Rajasthani folk music kept the energy high. Udaipur danced to the tunes of Bollywood singers and musicians like Shaan & Kanika Kapoor.

As the celebration came to an end, it once again proved to be a space where music transcends borders, bringing people together through sound, rhythm, and shared experiences. With artists from across the globe, the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival reaffirmed Udaipur’s place as a vibrant hub for world music.
