Bollywood Director Sanoj Mishra Receives Support from Advocate A.P. Singh

In a significant development, Dr. A.P. Singh, the lawyer known for supporting Pakistani national Seema Haider, has now extended his support to embattled Bollywood director Sanoj Mishra. This announcement comes ahead of Mishra’s upcoming hearing in the High Court, scheduled for tomorrow, while he remains lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

Sanoj Mishra recently drew controversy after reportedly offering a role in his film The Diary of Manipur to Mahakumbh girl Monalisa. The offer sparked a media storm, adding to the filmmaker’s growing list of legal and social troubles. With Dr. A.P. Singh stepping in, the legal landscape of Mishra's case might see a major shift, making this support a noteworthy move.

Born on August 11, 1977, in Haidergarh, Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, Sanoj Mishra is a seasoned director and writer in Hindi cinema. He holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Shia PG College, Lucknow. Beginning his career as an assistant director, Mishra has worked on various mainstream Bollywood projects. He made his directorial debut in 2014 with Betaab and later helmed films such as Gandhigiri, Ram Ki Janmbhoomi, Lafange Nawab, Kashi to Kashmir, Shashank, Ghaznavi, and The Diary of West Bengal.

Recently, the director was arrested on March 31, 2025, in Ghaziabad after being accused of raping a 28-year-old actress. As the legal proceedings intensify, all eyes are on the court and the potential impact of Dr. A.P. Singh’s legal acumen on the outcome of the case.
