##GDRI :Hosts National Maxillofac Skill Course

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Geetanjali Dental and Research Institute, Udaipur successfully organized the National Maxillofac Skill Course. The event saw participation from 50 first-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery postgraduates from across India. The program was graced by the presence of Dr. Bhagwandas Rai, President of AOMSI and Dean of Pacific Dental College and Hospital, Udaipur, along with Dr. Nikhil Verma, Dean of Geetanjali Dental and Research Institute. Dr. Ramakant Reddy Dubbuddu, a consultant at AIG Hospitals, Hyderabad, served as the course director. The course was coordinated by Dr. Shalu Bansal, Professor and Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Geetanjali Dental and Research Institute.

The course included operating room protocols conducted by Dr. Raghav Pendyala, Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and Reader at SVS Institute of Dental Sciences, Mahbubnagar. Artificial airways, ventilation, and endotracheal intubation (including fiberoptic intubation) were taught by Dr. Anuj Vyas, Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon at Avanti Hospital, Ujjain.

Tracheostomy care with anterior and posterior nasal packing was conducted by Dr. Shalu Bansal. Injection, IV line, and blood sampling procedures were led by Dr. Ramakant Reddy Dubbuddu. Suturing techniques were demonstrated by Dr. Sushmita R. Vyas, Professor at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry and PG Institute, Indore.

Surgical knots and hemostasis were covered by Dr. Vivekanand Kattimani, Professor and Head at Cibar Institute of Dental Sciences, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Nasogastric tube insertion and urinary catheterization training were provided by Dr. Vamshi Krishna Kumaram, an aesthetic facial surgeon at Sasha Lux Skin and Cosmetic Surgery Center, Hyderabad. Surgical drains and wound care were overseen by Dr. Khalid Mohammad Agwani, Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon and Professor at Darshan Dental College and Hospital, Udaipur.

The interactive nature of the workshop allowed participants to ask questions, engage in hands-on activities, and receive personalized guidance from the instructors.
