World Cancer Day 2025: Women’s Health Awareness Program Held

 

Udaipur,  On the occasion of World Cancer Day 2025, a Women’s Health Awareness Camp was organized at Military Hospital, Udaipur. Prof. Dr. Nalini Sharma, Senior Obstetrician & Gynecologist at Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital, addressed the awareness session, providing crucial insights into women’s health.

Under the theme "United by Unique", Dr. Nalini Sharma elaborated on cervical cancer (HPV) vaccination and non-hormonal management of menopause. The session saw enthusiastic participation from the members of AWWA (Army Wives Welfare Association), who engaged in discussions and asked queries regarding cervical cancer prevention, benefits of vaccination, and effective menopause management.

Dr. Nalini Sharma emphasized that cervical cancer is one of the most common and life-threatening cancers among women, but it can be effectively prevented through timely vaccination and regular checkups. She highlighted the importance of the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine, stating that it is highly effective in protecting against cervical cancer.

She also spoke on the symptoms of menopause and effective non-hormonal management strategies, explaining that a balanced diet, regular exercise, yoga, and a healthy lifestyle can significantly help women cope with the challenges of menopause.
