Container Facility Launched at Khemli Depot

Udaipur,Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) General Manager, Mr. Vinay Bhardwaj, announced during a discussion with UCCI exporter members that container facilities have been initiated at the Khemli Container Depot. This will enable exporters to transport goods to Mundra Port at significantly reduced costs.

Honorary Secretary Dr. Pawan Talesra informed that CONCOR will also provide truck and trailer services for the transportation of goods to and from the factory to the Khemli depot. Customs clearance of goods will be conducted at Mundra Port. He further added that CONCOR is facilitating the inland and domestic transportation of soapstone and other minerals to destinations like Bangladesh, Bangalore, and Chennai, providing a great opportunity for local traders.

During the discussion, UCCI President Mr. M.L. Lunawat expressed confidence that this cost-effective service will encourage local traders to utilize the facility.

Mr. B.L. Dagalya, Chairman of the Finance and Taxation Sub-Committee of UCCI, emphasized that if at least five to seven shipping line containers are available at Khemli, export goods can be transported to ports on time and shipped overseas.

Mr. Hakim TDwala of Sah Polymers suggested that CONCOR should ensure at least one weekly train service for goods transportation to the port, which could lead to consistent bookings from the region.

Dr. Pawan Talesra proposed that importers should also use the empty containers at the depot after goods are brought from the port, allowing exporters to reuse them. This would lead to freight savings for both importers and exporters.

Area Railway Officer Mr. Mahendra Dipal and officials from Khemli Container Depot, including Mr. Virendra and Mr. Abhilash Sharma, were also present on the occasion.
